About Sat Tracker

Sat Tracker is a free interactive web application for exploring satellite networks and orbital behavior. It combines current public orbital data with visual tools for understanding where satellites are, how their orbits move over Earth, how altitude and inclination affect coverage, and how large constellations evolve over time.

Explore the live tracker

The main Sat Tracker experience is intentionally visual and uncluttered. Use the interactive globe or map to explore constellations and orbital behavior.

Launch Sat Tracker

Satellite constellations

Sat Tracker provides interactive views of communications satellite networks including Starlink, Amazon Leo, Eutelsat OneWeb, Qianfan / Thousand Sails, Hulianwang / Guowang, Iridium NEXT, Globalstar, ORBCOMM, Intelsat, SES, Eutelsat and Telesat where public orbital data is available.

Coverage and ground tracks

Coverage visualization uses satellite altitude and orbital geometry to estimate the instantaneous Earth footprint. The Orbital Playground can compare a single satellite with configurable orbital-shell architectures using altitude, inclination, orbital planes and satellites per plane.

Launches, orbital events and history

Sat Tracker combines upcoming launch information with observed orbital events and constellation lifecycle history. History & Growth shows available launch and decay records by constellation and year. Live Orbital Events highlights significant changes such as orbit raising, altitude changes, shell arrival and deorbiting behavior.

Public data & sources

Sat Tracker is built from publicly available information. It does not use private satellite telemetry, proprietary operator data, or classified information.

Orbital data

Primary orbital data is obtained from CelesTrak, which republishes public General Perturbations orbital data and provides supplemental public orbital data for some satellites. Much of the public catalog information is associated with the U.S. Space Force space surveillance catalog and is also distributed through Space-Track.org.

Calculated by Sat Tracker

Satellite positions are propagated from published orbital elements. Coverage footprints, latency, ground tracks, shell geometry, population coverage and Playground results are calculated estimates and simulations — not direct real-time satellite telemetry.

Other public information

Launch schedules, planned constellation architectures and historical information may come from public operator announcements, regulatory filings and other cited public sources. Planned values can change and should be treated as estimates.

Sat Tracker is an independent educational project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by CelesTrak, the U.S. Space Force, Space-Track.org, or any satellite operator shown. It is not intended for operational navigation, conjunction assessment or collision avoidance.

Supporting the project

Sat Tracker remains free to use. Optional contributions help cover cloud infrastructure, data processing and continued development. A portion of support received also goes toward public data providers that help make projects like Sat Tracker possible.
